Selank is a synthetic heptapeptide anxiolytic derived from the endogenous peptide tuftsin (Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg), with an added Pro-Gly-Pro sequence for metabolic stability. It modulates the GABAergic system, upregulates BDNF, and influences serotonin and dopamine metabolism. Selank has been studied for its anxiolytic, antidepressant, and nootropic properties, as well as immune system modulation via IL-6 and interferon expression. Supplied as an intranasal solution for transmucosal research delivery.
