Research summary
Selank has been studied in animal models of anxiety-like behaviour and in clinical settings in Russia, with limited independent replication. It is not approved by major Western regulators. This summary describes what the literature has investigated. It is not a claim about the effects of our product, which is supplied for laboratory research only.
Mechanism of action
Selank is a synthetic heptapeptide (Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg-Pro-Gly-Pro) derived from the immunomodulatory peptide tuftsin, with a Pro-Gly-Pro tail that increases stability. Published work, mainly from Russian research groups, has examined effects on GABAergic and monoaminergic signalling, BDNF expression and immune markers in animal models.
Chemical properties
Sequence: Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg-Pro-Gly-Pro (7 residues). Molecular formula: C33H57N11O9. Molecular weight: approx. 751.9 g/mol. Form: nasal spray preparation. Purity, identity and content: see the batch Certificate of Analysis.
Storage and handling
Supplied as a nasal spray preparation. Store as stated on the product label and Certificate of Analysis, typically cold and protected from light. Keep the container closed when not in use and avoid contamination of the nozzle. For laboratory research use only.
