Research summary
ARA-290 has been studied in animal models and in small published clinical studies in neuropathy associated with sarcoidosis and type 2 diabetes. This summary describes what the literature has investigated. It is not a claim about the effects of our product, which is supplied for laboratory research only.
Mechanism of action
ARA-290 (cibinetide) is an 11-amino-acid peptide designed from the helix B region of erythropoietin. It is reported to engage the innate repair receptor, an EPO receptor and CD131 heteromer, without the erythropoietic activity of full-length erythropoietin. Published work, mainly in animal models and small early clinical studies, has examined tissue-protective and anti-inflammatory signalling.
Chemical properties
Sequence: pGlu-Glu-Gln-Leu-Glu-Arg-Ala-Leu-Asn-Ser-Ser (11 residues, N-terminal pyroglutamate). Form: lyophilised powder. Molecular weight, purity and identity: see the batch Certificate of Analysis (HPLC and mass spectrometry).
Storage and handling
Supplied as a lyophilised (freeze-dried) powder. Store sealed, cold, dry and protected from light, as stated on the Certificate of Analysis and product label. Allow the vial to reach room temperature before opening to limit condensation. Avoid repeated temperature cycling and humidity exposure. For laboratory research use only.
