Research summary
Thymosin alpha-1 has been studied in a range of cell, animal and clinical research on immune modulation, including trials in infectious disease and oncology settings, with mixed and context-dependent results. This summary describes what the literature has investigated. It is not a claim about the effects of our product, which is supplied for laboratory research only.
Mechanism of action
Thymosin alpha-1 is a 28-amino-acid, N-terminally acetylated peptide originally isolated from thymic tissue. Published work reports that it interacts with Toll-like receptors on dendritic cells and other immune cells, influencing cytokine production and T-cell maturation.
Chemical properties
Structure: N-acetylated 28-residue peptide. Molecular formula: C129H215N33O55. Molecular weight: approx. 3108 g/mol. Form: lyophilised powder. Sequence, purity and identity: see the batch Certificate of Analysis (HPLC and mass spectrometry).
Storage and handling
Supplied as a lyophilised (freeze-dried) powder. Store sealed, cold, dry and protected from light, as stated on the Certificate of Analysis and product label. Allow the vial to reach room temperature before opening to limit condensation. Avoid repeated temperature cycling and humidity exposure. For laboratory research use only.
