Research summary
Research on 5-Amino-1MQ is preclinical, from cell culture and rodent studies of NNMT inhibition and adipocyte metabolism. No controlled human outcome data are available. This summary describes what the literature has investigated. It is not a claim about the effects of our product, which is supplied for laboratory research only.
Mechanism of action
5-Amino-1MQ is a small-molecule inhibitor (not a peptide) of nicotinamide N-methyltransferase (NNMT), an enzyme involved in cellular NAD+ and methyl-donor metabolism. Published preclinical work has examined how blocking NNMT affects adipocyte energy metabolism. Human data are lacking.
Chemical properties
Class: small-molecule quinolinium compound (5-amino-1-methylquinolinium), not a peptide. Form: powder. Salt form, molecular weight, purity and identity: see the batch Certificate of Analysis.
Storage and handling
Supplied as a lyophilised (freeze-dried) powder. Store sealed, cold, dry and protected from light, as stated on the Certificate of Analysis and product label. Allow the vial to reach room temperature before opening to limit condensation. Avoid repeated temperature cycling and humidity exposure. For laboratory research use only.
